Local Priorities

Youth Related ASB in Crook Town Centre. This has been raised by local residents and by retailers effected including ALDI and LIDL. Incidents have also occurred in Glenholm Park. The behaviour of some young people is detrimental to local business and quality of life for the community.

Issued: 2 Mar 2026

Status Update

Ongoing proactive high visibility patrols have been conducted during relevant times and days in all the hotspot locations. Officers are working closely with retail staff and managers to target harden premises to prevent entry and improve evidence gathering or reduce opportunity for offenders to go undetected. PCSOs are working with local businesses such as Lidl to reduce the ASB incidents in the area. Over the past months several repeat perpetrators have been identified and meetings held with partners including Durham County Council ASB officers, housing providers and schools to tackle causes of Anti-Social Behaviour and reduce overall incidents. Incidents of ASB in the town centre have reduced over the past few months as a result of the increased patrols. Cafe drop in has been held in Crook for members of the public to raise any concerns.
Increased patrols have been conducted under Operation Pave as part of the Neighbourhood policing guarantee
