Local Priorities

Ongoing ASB taking place within Sparkhill Park late in the evening and into the early hours of the morning.

Issued: 19 May 2026

Status Update

Local Dedicated Neighbourhood Officer PC Javid has been newly tasked with this and will be formulating a plan to deal with this long term issue. At the next ward meeting he will be able to inform local residents what the local policing plan will be for the Sparkhill park area.

As part of this plan we have increased our patrols and moved towards joint patrols with our partners.

Actioned: 19 May 2026

There is a long standing issue of dangerous parking along roads within Sparkhill. Knowle Road and surrounding roads have been highlighted by local residents via calls to the police, concerns raised during local drop-in sessions and through the local council.

Issued: 19 May 2026

Status Update

Weekly enforcement taking place by local neighbourhood officers who also work weekly with council parking enforcement.

We are liaising with the DVLA in order to remove some of the vehicles which are untaxed and contributing to the parking issues in the area.

During the past 3 months we have removed a number of vehicles from Formans Road and surrounding roads in pre-planned operations.

Actioned: 19 May 2026

We are seeing and being informed by residents of an increase in fly tipping within the area.

Issued: 19 May 2026

Status Update

We have recently conducted two joint operations with Birmingham City Council and seized a number of vehicles identified in the illegal disposal of this waste.

We will be working with the local council to assist in further enforcement action on individuals and companies involved in this activity.

Actioned: 19 May 2026

We have seen an increase in nitrous oxide canisters being littered in the community and an increase in their illegal use.

Issued: 19 May 2026

Status Update

We are working closely with trading standards regarding the sale of this substance and have completed a number of joint visits in recent weeks. We will continue to prosecute businesses found to be selling these products illegally.

We are engaging with individuals who are found using these substances illegally and dealing with them appropriately by means of prosecution and education courses.
