Local Priorities

There have been reports of vehicles obstructing the public highway and vehicles with no tax across the ward area. This inconveniences members of the community, the general public and can look unsightly.

Status Update

Throughout March/April, officers have patrolled Washwood Heath and given numerous tickets to vehicle causing an obstruction and seized vehicles.

Officers have regularly patrolled Alum Rock Road especially with the build up to the Chand Raat and advised drivers about causing an obstruction on the road especially at junctions and parking on Zig Zag lines, vehicles were also issued with fixed penalty notices.

On 29/03/26 officer seized a stolen vehicle on Raymond Road.

On 30/03/26 officer seized a vehicle for no Tax and tickets were given for obstruction on Hartop Road.

Youth engagement is a priority in order to build a positive relationship with young people and to provide support them.

Status Update

Officers from Washwood Heath have delivered Junior PCSO workshops at Starbank and Rosary Primary Schools. Officers were invited to Eden Boys School to be involved in the Community Iftar Event. Officers have been engaging with young people on Alum Rock Road whilst on foot patrol.

On 01/03/26, officers have assisted CMI in a street clean on Ellesmere Road.

On 05/03/26, officers worked alongside Birmingham City Council parking to tackle the issues of parking on Adderley Road.

On 06/03/26 officers conducted a walkabout in Washwood Heath with the local MP and departments from BCC, to address local issues in the community

On 10/03/26, officers worked with Birmingham Council Waste Enforcement, to delivery enforcement notices to business disposing of waste illegally.

On 19/03/2026 officers conducted high visibility patrols on Alum Rock Road with partners from Birmingham City Council, trading standards to manage and deal with issues on Alum Rock Road and Chand Raat.

On 23/03/26 Officers attended Alum Rock Traders Association Eid celebration.

02/04/26 Officers attended Ghamkol Sharif Mosque to delivery a talk/workshop to young people
