Local Priorities

Vulnerability Reduction - including safeguarding repeat victims and vulnerable persons and tackling violence against women and girls.

Issued: 18 Mar 2026

Status Update

We continue to focus on VAWG following our launch of 'walk and talk' in the area which is an initiative where females can pair up with a female officer to show them where in the locality they do not feel safe. We will then work with partners to try and make this better.
We also continue to work closely with partners to ensure that we are not only pursuing criminals but looking at where we can prevent crime from happening.
If you would like to utilise 'walk and talk' please email [email protected]
We have carried out Op Vigilant deployments in the Evening and Night Time Economy employing a mixture of plain clothes and uniformed officers to detect and prevent crime and make the community safer.
Please continue to report crime and intelligence to us.

We will continue to be highly visible in the community and focus on those who repeatedly commit crime and cause the community harm.
In the last 3 months since 1st January 2026- officers have carried out 273 high visibility foot patrols in hotspot areas in Camborne, Redruth and Pool. A hotspot is a specific, small geographical area where data shows a high concentration of Anti-Social behaviour and crime.
