Local Priorities

PACT meeting. Off Road bikes continue to be an issue. It is mainly on a weekend especially on a Sunday. Around the old railway lines and the field and woods at the side of the Bypass.

Status Update

We continue to gather information to obtain a bigger picture. We are concentrating on patrols at the hotspot times and areas. Working with the local Area Street Wardens and local Council. Successful operation carried out with the Road safety and traffic. Resulting in 2 quads seized,1 bike and persons charged with offences. Network Rail have closed the access to the railway line path at 3 Bridges. Reports of off road Bikes has decreased. New log and I have updated the off road bike profile with new intelligence received. CCTV requested. More information has been gathered. Enquiries are ongoing.

Parking around the schools at Am and PM drop off times. This causes low visibility for pedestrians and reduces access to safe crossing places.

Status Update

Working with the schools to find a solution and raise awareness of safety. Regular patrol at the drop off times. I am working on a solution with partner agencies. The first Phases has been completed ready to Trial. Information requested. Promising results and hopefully implement in more schools. Patrols were carried out around the school finish time.

Status Update

Speed watch was carried out on High Road. In a 30 Minute Period 34 cars passed through. 3 Vehicles were over 36MPH and warning letters have been sent. New speed watch volunteers have been added and will plan activities over the next couple of weeks. A letter was posted reminding residents to be considerate when parking so as not to cause an obstruction. Speed watch planning at the next PACT meeting. Speed watch carried out 30/05/2026 1 driver was sent a warning letter.

Fly Tipping on the West Cornforth bypass and roads leading into West Cornforth. Also a Fly tip has been reported on the field at the back of the allotments on station road.
