This includes supporting victims, increasing neighbourhood reassurance, and addressing repeat locations and vulnerability factors.
     
  • To work with local retailers, business owners and partner agencies to reduce ASB and thefts from shop. This priority will focus on intelligence‑led patrols, offender identification and disruption, improved information‑sharing and targeted problem‑solving to prevent repeat offending.

This will include crime prevention and target hardening advice through social media and NPT contact points. Supporting victims, increasing neighbourhood reassurance with hot spot patrols, and addressing repeat locations and vulnerability factors. 

This priority will focus on intelligence led patrols, offender identification and disruption, improved information sharing with businesses, and targeted problem solving to prevent repeat offending and reduce harm within the retail community.

Shipley and Saltaire Ward Areas

  • To work together with Business Watch and local partners to tackle shop theft in Shipley.
     
  • Address and deal positively with street level drug dealing in and around Shipley centre, tackle ASB in the town centre and around McDonalds and surrounding businesses.

Status Update

We have worked closely with local businesses and Shipley Town Council and are currently in the process of setting up the Business Watch radio scheme. Since    working closely with the local shops several prolific shoplifters have received custodial sentences.

Officers continue to patrol identified hotspots for drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. A number of drug dealers have been arrested for possession with intent to  supply (PWITS). High-visibility patrols remain in place across the town centre, resulting in further arrests and reports for summons for drug-related offences.
