VAWG (violence against women and Girls)
Issued: 1 Mar 2026
Status Update
In line with our Valentine's Ward Priority and the strategic goals set by Commissioner Mark Rowley and Commander Stuart Bell, officers will host an event to raise awareness about Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in the ward. We will establish engagement points in key community areas like shopping centres, train stations, and community hubs, where officers will distribute materials on support services, reporting methods, and signs of domestic abuse. Collaborating with local VAWG support organizations i.e. Redbridge community safety team we will ensure survivors have access to specialized resources. Officers will conduct targeted patrols in hotspot areas and brief local businesses and community groups on their role in safeguarding vulnerable individuals. This coordinated effort underscores our commitment to improving safety for women and girls in the ward, ensuring everyone knows how to recognize, report, and respond to VAWG, and that help is readily available for those in need.

ASB – loitering and drug use and begging
Issued: 1 Dec 2025
Status Update
Over the next three months, Valentine's Ward officers will intensify efforts to address antisocial behaviour, with a particular focus on loitering, drug use, and aggressive begging in our community. Our approach will combine increased visible patrols in identified hotspots with partnership working alongside social services, health agencies, and local businesses to tackle the root causes of these issues. Officers will engage proactively with rough sleepers and individuals involved in substance misuse, connecting them with support services and diversion programs while taking firm enforcement action against those who persistently engage in criminal activity or refuse assistance. We'll establish regular community engagement sessions to gather intelligence from residents and businesses, ensuring our resources are deployed where they're needed most. Through this balanced strategy of enforcement and support, we aim to create safer public spaces while offering pathways to help for vulnerable individuals, ultimately reducing ASB incidents and improving the quality of life for all Valentine's Ward residents.
