Status Update

Residents previously asked us to focus on the following issues:

Reduce vehicle-related anti-social behaviour in Stanstead Abbotts High Street.
• Several operations have taken place in Stanstead Abbotts under Operation Tonnage, during which vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are stopped, spoken to, and advised regarding the weight restriction. Repeat offenders have been identified during these operations and as a result have been issued tickets. Ongoing monitoring and enforcement will continue. There are still some vehicles breaching the 7.5 tonne limit; however, following recent local enforcement operations, the number of offending vehicles has reduced, with most now diverting via alternative routes. Officers have carried out targeted patrols, engaged with drivers, and issued warnings where appropriate, taking enforcement action against those who repeatedly or deliberately ignore the restriction.

Reduce anti-social behaviour in Lady Margaret Gardens, Fanhams Hall Road and King George Park, in Ware.
• Over recent weeks, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been actively patrolling priority areas including King George Park, Lady Margaret Gardens, and Fanham’s Hall Road, responding to community concerns around anti-social behaviour.
• Officers and PCSOs have carried out frequent high visibility patrols across the area. No issues have been identified during multiple checks of King George Park and Lady Margaret Gardens.
• We have coordinated with the Future Hope Bus team (Youth Development workers). Their team will support youth engagement work to help reduce anti-social behaviour in the priority location.
• We will continue to respond to reports of anti-social behaviour involving local youths, ensuring victim safeguarding and ongoing monitoring of hotspot areas.
• We remain committed to maintaining a visible presence, engaging with young people, working in partnership with local services and taking positive action where offences occur.
