Local Priorities

Morley North Ward Area

Morley North Ward Area

  • To target Anti-Social Vehicle use, speeding and inconsiderate parking in and around Morley North. We will be increasing patrols in the areas and issuing penalty notices to be issued to any vehicle parked causing an obstruction, use of the Leeds wide PSPO alongside other legislation available to the police.

  • To disrupt and engage with nuisance youths within Morley North, particularly targeting misuse of drugs offences and anti-social behaviour. We plan to deal with this issue by increasing high visibility patrols in the area. We will also use anti-social behaviour Legislation if required to prevent the youths from returning to locations if warnings are not heeded whilst also working with partner agencies to prevent reoccurrences.

  • To deal with anti-social behaviour at White Rose Shopping Centre which is impacting on local businesses. Work with business owners to develop and act on reports and intelligence received, ensuring preventative steps are made by retailers rather than dealing afterwards.

Status Update

  1. We have been focusing recently on HGV’s driving through Gildersome in contravention of the restrictions in place, patrols have been conducted, on occasion words of advice have been given and tickets issued where appropriate.

Car meets along the A650 have decreased in frequency due to the active operation between SYP, WYP, WYP and Humberside, however they do continue to occur in differing locations, please contact us and let us know so the right resources can be sent to deal.

From our records ASB reports are still down which is positive across Drighlington, Gildersome and Churwell, several individuals have been moved out of the area, and a few people have been given behaviour contracts in conjunction with LASBT.
