Local Priorities

SAFETY ON OUR ROADS: Every quarter, the Rural North Beat Team review the beats current priorities and what matters to you the most. This is done through social media, neighbourhood link surveys, community consultations and much more. Road Safety is something that is raised often and remains a policing priority for the the rural north area.

As part of the latest quarterly review, this priority will remain in place until the next quarterly review in January 2026.

Issued: 1 Mar 2026

Status Update

We continue to see familiar trends in relation to this beat priority, with ongoing road‑safety concerns and incidents regularly reported to both the police and the beat team.

We remain committed to attending road‑related incidents, including collisions and wider safety concerns, ensuring a prompt response and continued efforts to keep all road users safe.

Following recent community engagement, concerns around bikers using the B676 corridor have started being reported, as such, patrols in the area will continue as well as enforcement activity where able.

Burglaries and Rural Crime

The Rural North Beat, as its name suggests, covers a predominantly rural area. We recognise that thefts affecting individuals and businesses can have a significant impact—not only on those directly involved, but also on the wider community and local industries.

From your feedback, we understand that issues such as hare coursing, burglaries, thefts from farms and agricultural vehicles, and heritage crime are key concerns. These will continue to be a priority for us.

As part of our quarterly review process, this priority will remain in place from March 2026 until the next review in 3 months

Issued: 1 Mar 2026

Status Update

Since the start of the year, there has been a slight reduction in rural crime and burglaries across the Rural North area, which is encouraging.

While sporadic reports of rural-related incidents and burglaries continue, overall levels remain lower at this time. Incidents reported during April include damage to a generator supplying power to electric fencing and damage and entry to an abandoned hotel.

Rural patrols are ongoing, with opportunities for disruption continually explored.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB):

Through various community engagement channels, including our official social media platforms, public meetings, Neighbourhood Link surveys, active investigations and beat surgeries, residents have recently raised increased concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour in certain areas of the beat.

This includes issues such as public disorder, nuisance behaviour, and occasionally incidents of intimidation in public spaces.

The feedback highlights a strong desire for increased police visibility, targeted patrols, and collaborative problem-solving to tackle these behaviours, improve community safety, and reassure local residents.

Issued: 1 Mar 2026

Status Update

Based on recent incident reviews, ongoing investigations, and community feedback, antisocial behaviour (ASB) has decreased across other villages; however, it remains an issue in Bottesford.

A number of individuals have been identified and issued with warning letters and banning notices from local stores. Patrols continue in affected areas, and a robust, incremental approach to addressing antisocial behaviour is being applied when perpetrators are identified.

Latest hot spot areas are around the allotments/skatepark.
