Local Priorities

Overnight vehicle crime

Issued: 20 May 2026

Status Update

We are managing known offenders linked to vehicle crime and enhancing investigations by revisiting incidents to identify any further lines of enquiry, including CCTV. Officers are conducting directed patrols in high-risk areas based on crime-pattern analysis, with support from specialist units such as traffic and dog teams where needed.

Actioned: 1 Sep 2026

Shop Theft

Issued: 20 May 2026

Status Update

We are taking robust action against repeat shoplifters, improving investigations with further CCTV enquiries, and providing dedicated support to the most affected stores. Dispersal powers and Criminal Behaviour Order applications are being used to manage offender behaviour. Partnership work has secured two new CCTV cameras, and staff are receiving ongoing crime-prevention and evidence-gathering guidance.

Anti-social behaviour

Issued: 20 May 2026

Status Update

Neighbourhood officers attend Residents’ Association meetings and run termly multi-agency drop-ins at the Cricket Club. Resources have been adjusted to ensure more officers are available during peak anti-social behaviour (ASB) times. We work closely with the universities and local authority to spot and address emerging issues quickly. Operation Oak continues to tackle ASB alongside safeguarding work. Targeted patrols focus on the most affected areas, with increased visibility planned around major events.
