A drugs warrant was carried out at an address on Costa Street due to ongoing issues.
Proactive are working with Neighbourhood Officers to tackle drug dealing around the Laycock Park and Archibald School area.

Status Update
Antisocial behaviour is being addressed in the Newport Ward by regular high visibility patrols being carried out within the area.
Regular house visits are being carried out by PCSOs and Neighbourhood Safety Officer Ste Wright to address issues that are being caused by youths in the Newport Ward and surrounding areas. Issues are being dealt with by providing guidance and issuing Antisocial Behaviour Contracts.

Street drug dealing and off-road bikes

Status Update
Street drug dealing is a concern for many residents in the Newport ward. Middlesbrough Proactive Team and neighbourhood policing officers regularly target addresses and persons dealing from vehicles, on bikes and on foot.
We continue to see tremendous results on a weekly basis in arresting, charging and obtaining prison sentences for those caught supplying class A drugs. This targeted activity has also contributed to decreases in acquisitive crime and violence offences in the ward over the last 12 months.

Anti Social Behaviour

Officers are working closely with Neighbourhood Safety Wardens and Neighbourhood Safety Officer Stephen Wright to target and impose orders on those causing anti-social behaviour. Youth clubs are attended to work with youths in the area and CBOs given for those who continuously cause issues in the area.
