Local Priorities

Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below as the things your local neighbourhood policing teams across east of Peterborough will prioritise for April to June 2026:

- Retail theft and resale of stolen goods
- Vehicle nuisance and speeding in Dogsthorpe and Eastfield
- Drug use and drug dealing in Eastgate

Issued: 24 Mar 2026

Status Update

- Retail theft and resale of stolen goods

Work on this priority has included attending shops in Boongate in response to anti-social behaviour – with youths engaged with and dispersed.

Officers have also attended a local car boot sale where a large quantity of suspected stolen goods, worth thousands of pounds, were seized.

- Vehicle nuisance and speeding in Dogsthorpe and Eastfield

Officers from the neighbourhood team joined colleagues from Peterborough City Council’s Environmental Health team during the quarter to address ongoing concerns around parking and abandoned vehicles.

During the visit, seven notices were issued to abandoned vehicles, with details passed to the DVLA so they can be removed.

- Drug use and drug dealing in Eastgate

Senior officers have met with numerous partner agencies to discuss this issue and specific streets in Eastgate. Plans are being made to work with partners to safeguard vulnerable people and tackle cuckooing concerns. Cuckooing is when a vulnerable person’s property is taken over by other people, often to sell drugs.

In addition to this work, patrols by officers from the neighbourhood team have continued.
