Anti-social behaviour

Issued: 10 Mar 2026

Theft and Burglary

Issued: 10 Mar 2026

Status Update

Theft and burglary, particularly targeting tools from vans and outbuildings, remain a key policing priority in the area.

We are distributing DNA marking kits to help identify stolen property and deter would-be offenders. Daytime patrols in rural areas are being increased to identify suspicious activity and gather intelligence, while targeted operations during the late evening and early morning hours aim to disrupt and deter theft and cross-border criminal activity. Ongoing crime prevention advice is also being provided to residents, farmers, and local businesses, with a focus on improving security and implementing target hardening measures to reduce vulnerability.
