Attending at local retailers to ensure a clear message is being given by them on customers purchasing, with a request to display our signage.
Educational leafleting and signage placed in the town centre.

Status Update
We have been patrolling the area and have received feedback from the community that the Eldon Road Playing Fields are now much more pleasant and feel safer than before. We also have additional patrols planned over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period

Our business community in the town centre tell us how badly affected they are by shoplifting. We want to help to tackle this.

Our detection rate for shoplifting has increased from 26% in June to September 2024 to 39% over the same period in 2025. We are delighted to see the effect that the Business Crime Reduction Partnership has had.
