Local Priorities

Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) in Wheatley High Street

Issued: 8 Apr 2026

Status Update

We have seen a vast reduction in ASB in Wheatley after the team concentrated hard last year on prevention and education as well as enforcement where repeat suspects were identified. We will continue to work on this priority along with colleagues from the Parish Council, particularly around the refurbished Church Road Rec area and outside of the Merry Bells where previously groups have gathered and caused problems.

Actioned: 23 May 2026

Neighbourhood Crime (Theft from Motor Vehicles)

Issued: 8 Apr 2026

Status Update

The team have been working on what is now a 26 strong crime series committed by offenders from out of force area. Junction 8A of the M40 has shared offences with similar in Newport Pagnall whereby a jammer has been used leading to members of the public leaving their vehicles unlocked, thinking they had been secured. Valuable goods have then been stolen.

PC Eldridge made an arrest that has led a reduction of offending whilst the suspect remains on bail. He continues to work on this case with detective colleagues.

We also made an arrest after a series of theft from motor vehicle offences in the outlying villages. Again, this has led to a vast reduction in that type of crime being committed.

Actioned: 23 May 2026

Anti-Social parking and business use in the villages

Issued: 8 Apr 2026

Status Update

Operation Multiball was run in Garsington and Littleworth to combat reports from many members of the public complaining about anti-social business use in the industrial estates. The complaints ranged from anti-social parking, through to fly-tipping and potential immigration offences.

The operation resulted in:

Immigration : dealt with 6 people

Police : made an arrest for Modern Day Slavery, recovered £4k in cash during a s.18 (successfully POCA'd today), implemented a Closure Order on a business and issued a CPN to an individual as well as dealing with several vehicles on the highway without MOT.

DVSA : inspected 2 MOT stations and deemed them unsatisfactory.

DVLA : clamped 5 vehicles for no tax and identified a further 30 vehicles for prosecution with their roaming ANPR.

OCC : issued 9 PCNs and recovered a further 5 vehicles.

EHO : Served 7 EPA notices to business owners.

We are visiting the sites regularly to monitor the closure order and ensure continued compliance.

Follow up visits have been made at both sites and compliance is vastly improved attracting praise from both the MP and the county council.
