Local Priorities

Fairfield Area and Ilminster Recreation Ground – Ongoing Anti‑Social Behaviour

We are currently focusing on addressing ongoing anti-social behaviour in these areas involving a large group of young individuals. The behaviour observed includes littering, revving vehicle engines, riding motorcycles on pavements and without helmets, and causing criminal damage to public property. These actions are having a detrimental impact on community safety and local residents.

  • The Neighbourhood Team focus on tackling anti-social behaviour by using the anti-social behaviour tools and powers available to deal with these issues effectively.
  • We are conducting more visibility patrols and collaborating with local schools/council to identify and take positive actions against individuals involved in ASB.

We are committed to working closely with local schools, offering support wherever possible and as demand allows. As part of this initiative, I aim to visit our local schools at least once a month to:

  • ? Build positive relationships with students and staff
  • ?️ Explore solutions to any ongoing or emerging issues
  • ?️ Provide a visible and approachable presence
  • ? Support a safer and more connected school environment
These visits are an opportunity to listen, learn, and collaborate with our educational partners to ensure the wellbeing of young people in our community.Actions:Community Engagement Update – Herne View School On 20th October 2025, I liaised with Herne View School to coordinate upcoming inputs for November.
