Local Priorities

Merry Hill - We will continue to focus on the following priorities:

Youth Violence, Anti-Social Behaviour and Drugs

ASB issues in the Swammore Close/Wrekin Drive/Star Street area have been identified.

The anti-social use of off road bikes and e-scooters has been identified in the Strathfield Walk/Langley Road area.

Issued: 27 Mar 2026

Status Update

There has been a slight reduction in the ASB issues within the Star Street and Swanmore Close areas, however they remain prominent as we and our partner agencies seek to ameliorate the situation from a long-term perspective. There has been regular high visibility patrols within the area along with stop and search engagement with identified persistent offenders. There is also further work being conducted through our Design Out Crime Officers to assess the issues from an environmental factor and we continue to adopt our partnership working practices with Wolverhampton Homes in relation to civil intervention for prolific and persistent offenders.
In reference to the issue of off-road bikes in the Strathfield Walk and Langley Road, we are currently working with our colleagues in Staffordshire Police regarding cross border operations and joint engagement patrols with further off-road bike operations planned with West Midlands Police Force Road Harm Safety Officers

There will be further consultation and discussion that will be required as there were concerns raised by residents/community groups/local councillors at the recent Love Your Community Meeting in reference to these implementations. Following these concerns and in line with our priorities, there has been an increased presence in regards to both plain clothed and high visibility patrols within the locality which has provided further reassurance in the area. We will also be planning to conduct future Off Road Bike Operations with the Force Road Harm Safety Team to prevent further issues with especially in relation to the issues of drug usage/dealing and off-road motorcycles.

In reference to further concerns that have recently been raised regarding begging offences from homeless persons and recent theft related offences on High Street in Tettenhall. Tettenhall NHT have linked in with our partner agencies/local councillors and businesses for the reintegration of the domehawk camera on the High Street as well as linking in with local businesses and banking institutions to promote crime prevention events to raise awareness in reference to a recent spate of theft from the person offences across Wolverhampton. This has also been reinforced by additional police presence and patrols within the locality
