Local Priorities

Anti Social behaviour

Issued: 26 Feb 2026

Status Update

We are aware of ongoing reports of anti-social behavior (ASB) in the vicinity of Sainsburys High Street, Biddulph Town. Our local officers remain committed to addressing these concerns and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

Collaborative Approach

To tackle the issue effectively, officers are working closely with partner agencies and detached youth workers. This multi-agency collaboration allows us to share information, coordinate responses, and provide targeted support to those affected. By engaging with youth workers, we aim to reach young people in the area, offer guidance, and help prevent further incidents.

Enforcement and Prevention

Our team is actively exploring both criminal and civil measures to reduce ASB-related issues. Criminal options may include investigating offences and taking appropriate legal action where necessary. Civil interventions can involve community-based solutions, such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts or dispersal orders, designed to deter problematic behaviour and support positive change.

Partnership with Sainsburys

We continue to liaise with Sainsburys management to foster a collaborative approach towards resolving these challenges. By working together, we can identify underlying causes, implement practical solutions, and create a safer environment for customers, staff, and local residents.

Community Engagement

Your feedback and support are vital. We encourage all members of the community to report incidents of anti-social behaviour and share any information that may assist our efforts. By working together, we can build a stronger, safer Biddulph Town.
Next Steps

Increased patrols: Officers will maintain a visible presence in the area to deter ASB and reassure the public.
Ongoing partnership work: We will continue to engage with local agencies, youth workers, and Sainsburys to address concerns and develop long-term solutions.
Monitoring and review: Progress will be regularly assessed, and updates will be provided to keep the community informed.

Burglary and vehicle crime is an ongoing priority.
