Theft affecting businesses in Blythe Bridge.

Status Update

Tackling shoplifting continues to be a key focus for our local policing team. Through recent scanning and analysis, we've identified Tesco Express, Uttoxeter Road as a repeat location for theft-related incidents.

These premises have been highlighted due to ongoing reports of thefts affecting businesses, staff, and the wider community. In response, our team is actively working on problem-solving approaches with store management and partners, including:

- High visibility patrols during peak hours
- Targeted offender management; use of Criminal Behaviour Order's for repeat offenders
- Use of CCTV and intelligence sharing
- Crime prevention advice and support for staff

We are committed to reducing shoplifting and supporting local businesses. We will continue to review and adapt our approach based on emerging trends.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB), including youth violence is an ongoing priority.

Status Update

We are working with a range of partners to address root causes of anti-social behaviour in the area. This includes the use of civil injunctions and arresting for criminal offences. Our local policing team is also working closely with Youth Offending Services to reduce this behaviour.
We have recently arrested three juvenile responsible for causing ASB and crime in the area and remain under investigation. We will continue to take decisive action.
We have increased high visibility patrols in hot spot areas
We continue to take action against individuals identified as contributing to crime and anti-social behaviour in the area
We have had recent reports of fighting in the Blythe Bridge area, particularly around Mount Road. This is something which officers are dealing with and taking positive action against suspects. Two suspects involved in incidents in the area have now moved away. However, these individuals continue to frequent the locality, Officers are currently looking at options around managing these individuals further.

We have worked alongside our forensics and criminal investigation department (CID) colleagues, which has resulted in a number of key arrests and charges being brought against several suspects.
We have seen an overall reduction in vehicle crime and reports of suspicious activity. Officers continue to patrol hotspot areas during the evening and into the night.
