Anti-social behaviour

Issued: 6 May 2026

Status Update

We want our neighbourhoods to be a safe place for everyone to live, work, visit and travel to. We know that sometimes this peace can be disturbed. Anti-social behaviour can include any behaviour or incident which causes alarm or distress. This can include issues such as repeated annoyance or nuisance behaviours, or deliberate intimidation. We will use a variety of tactics to prevent and deter these behaviours, and take enforcement action where appropriate.

The team have been working with other neighbourhood teams as well as BID security and Touchwood security during this half term break, dispersing youths from the town centre as well as working to identify the ones causing anti-social behaviour.
St Alphege officers have conducted a number of intelligence led stop searches this month regarding youths carrying weapons.
The team have continued to work with schools and colleges in the area in identifying youths causing problems for the local businesses and are issuing them with community protection warnings (CPW) and acceptable behaviour agreements (ABA)

Business Crime

Issued: 6 May 2026

Status Update

Solihull has a large business retail community, and much of that is within the town centre. We recognise the impact which retail crime has on businesses and their employees, and also indirectly to the wider public. We will continue to use a variety of tactics to detect, disrupt and apprehend offenders. Most of this crime is theft, but also relevant is fraud, assault and public order offences.

Hi-visibility from officers in Solihull town centre is a priority for our team. This has had a positive impact this month as shop thefts were lower than the month before.
Patrolling with Bid security where we can and assisting when were needed has resulted in 9 community protection warning (CPW) being issued banning shop lifters from Solihull as well as stolen items being recovered and given back to the retailer.
