Status Update

The use of vehicles, including e-bikes, has been identified by Met-Engage and Ward panel partners as an ongoing concern for public safety and major cause of anti-social behaviour in the area as such are a key priority for the teams’ daily policing activities.
Using community led intelligence to identify hotspot areas of concern the team use uniform reassurance patrols and pre-planned traffic operations to target these issues.
To support these front-line policing activities our PCSO’s are focused on encouraging the uptake of Met-Engage the information from which assists us in focusing our efforts.

Drug & substance mis-use, Dealing and associated violence / anti-social behaviour

Status Update

These offences are key drivers of anti-social behaviour a major concern to our community and as such are a key priority for the teams’ daily policing activities especially as the warm weather bring an influx of people into the riverside areas.
Using intelligence led policing to target regular uniform reassurance patrols, and plain clothes operations, to focus on hotspots and key offenders.
These patrols include weapons sweeps to disrupt gang violence and maintain the safety of our community as well as partnership work with local council and housing association which continues to improve safety and deter offending.
To support these front-line policing activities our PCSO’s are focused on encouraging the uptake of Met-Engage the information from which assists us in focusing our efforts.

Status Update

The team remains focused on reducing theft offences affecting local businesses.
Using intelligence led policing to target regular uniform reassurance patrols, and plain clothes operations, to focus on hotspots and key offenders.
Additionally, the team is deployed on ‘action weeks’ where these offences are the teams primary focus.
In support of these actions the team continues to develop and maintaining links with our local businesses and business groups, such as the safer Business Network, to improve crime reporting and security arrangements.

Residential Burglary & theft

Status Update

The team remains focused on reducing all theft offences with particular focus on burglary and residential theft (parcel theft, theft from outbuildings and garages) that are naturally particularly concerning our residents.
Using intelligence led policing to target regular uniform reassurance patrols, and plain clothes operations, to focus on hotspots and key offenders. This approach has identified and led to the arrest of several key offenders in the area believed to have been responsible for linked series of these offences.
The team has and will continue to flex shift patterns to target times that’s these offences are committed to give an agile response to this challenge.
To support these front-line policing activities our PCSO’s are focused on encouraging the uptake of Met-Engage.
