Status Update

Operation Vulture sees officers working closely with businesses to prevent crime and to identify and target offenders.

Operation Centurion in West Lancs is a multi-agency response with members of the West Lancs Community Safety Partnership which includes police, schools, fire, NHS and West Lancashire Borough Council (WLBC) sharing information on a daily basis to identify, target, safeguard and prosecute offenders.

Operation Centurion and Operation Igloo (part funded by West Lancs Borough Council) involves police working alongside partner agencies such as the Ranger Service conducting targeted operations. These involve assets on the ground on quad bikes and motorcycles supported by air assets (drone, helicopter, fixed wing aircraft) to identify, target, prosecute and seize the vehicles being illegally used.

Business Crime, ASB and Road Safety (Including off road bikes)

Issued: 1 Apr 2026

Status Update

Operation Vulture sees officers working closely with businesses to prevent crime and to identify and target offenders. This has resulted in numerous of our prolific offenders being issued with Civil Orders upon prosecution. These run side by side prosecutions and make it more difficult for the offender to re-offend.

Winter of Action sees our officers tackle those areas which have been highlighted as areas that have high anti-social behaviour issues. This includes both high visibility patrols, targeted operations and the use of civil orders for those involved in ASB in the area.

Operation Igloo (part funded by West Lancs Borough Council) involves police working alongside partner agencies such as the Ranger Service conducting targeted operations. These involve assets on the ground on quad bikes and motorcycles supported by air assets (drone, helicopter, fixed wing aircraft) to identify, target, prosecute and seize the vehicles being illegally used.

You may see our officers around West Lancs conducting speed enforcement. These roads of concern have been raised by members of the public as having particular road safety concerns.
