Local Priorities

Rural Burglaries and Acquisitive Crime

Issued: 22 Apr 2026

Status Update

Acquisitive Crime has dropped significantly.

Burglaries have dropped slightly with no pattern at all - referencing to times / days.

We have held engagement sessions in rural parishes and Sergeant Jamie Ball has written two articles for representative newsletters with Burglary / Crime prevention advice.

Sergeant Ball has also attended the two rural parish meetings to highlight the issues.

We are continuing to prioritise burglary and theft prevention across our rural communities, focusing on patrols, community intelligence, and security advice.

Speeding

Issued: 22 Apr 2026

Status Update

Mainly with assistance from the Speed Enforcement Team over past few months in the rural areas, there has been a lot of enforcement sessions around Sutton Benger / Christian Malford and Burton where known problems are.

There are planned meetings with Sutton Benger Parish Council and the Wiltshire and Swindon Road Safety Partnership on 5th February to discuss their traffic surveys.

We will continue with our communities to reduce speeding in villages and rural roads through enforcement and local initiatives.
