Local Priorities

Speeding and Equine Road Safety Awareness

Issued: 22 Apr 2026

Status Update

Speeding through our rural villages continues to be raised as a concern. We are conducting targeted speed checks, using both enforcement and education and working closely with Community Speed Watch schemes.

Recent speedchecks resulted in 3 speeding tickets being issued, along with 1 vehicle seized for no insurance in the local area.

Another focus is equine road safety awareness. Horse riders are regular road users across our rural patch, and we want to ensure both riders and drivers feel safe.

DEAD SLOW signage is readily available from rural policing contacts to give to farm owners at their request.
