Very high rates of shoplifting by prolific offenders. This causing a lot of alarm and distress to staff and local community

Status Update

COOP London Road has one of the highest rates of shoplifting in the force. This is causing staff and local residents alarm.
Police have carried out several operations to catchoffenders.
Police will work with the store to increase security and reduce offending.

Two of the areas most prolific shoplifters have been arrested and charged with over 10 shopliftings each. they have been remanded in court. This is as of plain cloths operations. Police will carry on conducting operations and patrols to target these prolific offenders. Police will also be CBOs upon conviction.

Store still has the highest rate of shoplifting in the force, police has conducted plain cloths ops in the store. Several persons have been arrested and sent to prison.

Several suspects have been arrested and sent to prison. Noticeable reduction in offences.

Reports of ASB and drug dealing on Cumberland Road

Status Update

Reports of drug dealing and ASB relating to drugs on Cumberland Road. Persons are using E bikes to deal on the footpath at all times. Police will be increasing patrols in area and identify the culprits.

plain clothes operation conducted in the area, several persons stopped checked and drug dealing disrupted.
Police have been conducting regular Hi visibility patrols in the area. One person was arrested for drug offences.

Youths breaking into block causing ASB and smoking in the stairwells

Status Update

Report from residents that every evening youths are getting into the block and causing ASB and smoking drugs.
Police have conducted a door knock and identified that this is a regular ongoing issue that is effecting the residents.
Police are conducting regular patrols and looking to identify the main culprits. Police will be working with the landlord and the council to come to a long term solution.

CPW has been issued to the main culprit. A joint meeting with council, housing police was conducted.

Police have been conducting regular visits to the block, no further issues at this point.
