Local Priorities

Residents in the East Park area have raised to both the police and local authority that drug dealing is taking place in and around the perimeters of the park as well as incidents of serious youth violence.

Issued: 26 May 2026

Status Update

The Neighbourhood Team have increased their patrols in the area and have had multiple positive outcomes in regards to drug dealing in the area. We have been increasing our patrols at relevant times and are seeing a reduction in those involved loitering.

We have been informed of anti-social driving and riding in the area which appears to be a by-product of the drug dealing. Regular patrols are taking place along our parkland and open space areas. We are putting in plans not just to stop the ASB as it appears but to stop it at the source. We ask the public to report anything in regards to it that they are aware of

Actioned: 26 May 2026

There have been reports of Anti Social Behaviour and off road vehicles on the grassed area of the Rocket Pool and along the canal. We are aware that the persons causing ASB are crossing into neighbouring areas, such as Tipton and Walsall.

Issued: 21 May 2026

Status Update

The Neighbourhood Team have been working on identifying those riding anti-socially and have been regularly patrolling the canal network. This has had a positive effect of deterring most anti-social riding. We are aware of the change in peak times and are changing our patrol strategy to match this. This would not be possible without the intelligence being provided by the community and we ask that this is continued.

We are aware of the inconsiderate and dangerous parking around the rocket pool which has exacerbated some of the anti-social riding. The patrols we have taken at a regular period have shown that the parking has improved. People have been approached and spoken to and are understanding the problems they are causing. We as your local team will be moving into an enforcement measure over the coming months for the repeat offenders.
We have recently conducted a day of action on Weddell Wynd and will continue to develop information provided from the community

Actioned: 23 May 2026

Bilston neighbourhood team and local authority still continue to receive reports of Anti Social Behaviour, thefts and drugs on Bilston High Street.

Issued: 27 Apr 2026

Status Update

The team has had recent success with multiple arrests for shoplifting offences over the past month. The team have had multiple positive results over the past month in regards to shoplifters. Many were committing multiple offences and targeting store and staff. We are pleased to say we have had some very good results at court and as such many of them are now in prison.

We have meetings with our partners at the council and the BID in regards to anti-social behaviour. Offenders are being identified and dealt with due to this positive partner working arrangement.
We are in the process of identifying any persistent offenders and taking positive action with the court process.

We ask that if you see us on patrol in Bilston Town to talk to us, we would love to hear your thoughts on the problems and the positives for the Town so we can best serve you.
