Local Priorities

Anti-social behaviour, specifically door knocking, underage drinking, drug use and nuisance behaviour in Loddon Nature Reserve and affecting immediately neighbouring roads.

Issued: 26 Apr 2026

Status Update

This issue was discussed with community members at our stand during the Twyford Annual Parish meeting. During these discussions it became clear that there is a general reluctance to report these matters to Police, as they are not thought to be important enough.

We have added this location to our patrol plans for general focus on the weekends now that term time has resumed. It is important to us that such issues are reported to best inform how we patrol this community space.

Update 24.05.26 - PC Young has been conducting patrols of the area but has not yet come across anything of interest. The team will continue to carry out patrols in this Anti-social Behaviour hot spot. We continue to encourage people to report any issues.

Actioned: 24 May 2026

As raised to the neighbourhood team via our community surveys, traffic congestion created by obstructions on the Wargrave Road during term time pick-up and drop-off traffic.

This is described as impacting onto the A4, and creating secondary issues of dangerous overtaking and poor decision making on the road.

Issued: 5 Apr 2026

Status Update

This issue has previously been explored by the team, and has included discussions with the parish and borough, as well as the local secondary school, as we work together to try and find a long term solution.

Over the past year we have undertaken periodic enforcement activity related to unnecessary obstruction at peak times.

This will continue as we try to explore the root cause of an increasing prevalence of this issue.

UPDATE 26/04/2026 - PC Bogdanova and PC Young have met with a local borough councillor, who is going to research a solution that may have been implemented elsewhere in Wokingham, to see if this has been effective, the cost and process of this implementation.

UPDATE 24/05/2026 - PC Bogdanova continues communication with the local borough councillor regarding designing out the issue, rather than policing it when available. Regardless, targeted patrols continue by the local neighbourhood team and appropriate action is taken where applicable.

Actioned: 24 May 2026

Increased reports of keyless car theft and theft from motor vehicle offences, as highlighted in crime data and informed via community surveys in March.

This issue has predominantly affected the Charvil area.

Issued: 5 Apr 2026

Status Update

This issue has been added onto the local patrol plan for May, with specific attention paid to evenings.

PCSO Ruby Maguire is leading a clear car initiative and will be exploring opportunities to engage with the public to share target hardening advice on how to avoid keyless car theft. She is in the process of delivering leaflets to raise awareness of this trend.

During our public engagements, we have been advocating, and where possible, providing simple faraday pouches to the community, to try and reduce vulnerability to this offence type.

Update 24.05.26 - PCSO Maguire has delivered informational leaflets to some roads where these crimes have been seen to rise. PC Bogdanova has sent out digital TV Alerts crime awareness and prevention advice.
