Priority raised 17 April 2025, still current as detailed in PACT surveys, information from partner agencies and local council and residents

Status Update

WE DID
Patrols carried out in the area. CCTV obtained and enquiries underway to identify persistent offenders. Working with “Better” who own the site to look at a safer working environment for staff, and to prevent and discourage further antisocial behaviour.

10/06/2025 - Met with employees of Better and partner agencies to discuss ongoing Anti social behaviour on the site.
11.06.2025 - High visibility patrols deterred some youths from entering pitch
15.06.2025 - High visibility patrols no youths at location

17.06.2025 - discuss possible solutions with the Police Crime Prevention Design Advisor.

Throughout July, Officers have attended the local Primary Schools in the area to talk to the pupils and educate them in how anti social behaviour affects lives. High Visibility patrols have been increased and Youths spoken to if seen in the effected areas

Reports of youths getting into 2 of the derelict buildings in Cleator Moor , the youths responsible have been identified by the local officers place and the investigation is still ongoing.
Owners of these buildings have been held accountable and have been issued with a Community Protection Notice Warnings by Cumberland Council that will be enforced if action is not taken to ensure the buildings and surrounding areas are secured correctly and associated debris has been dealt with accordingly.

Mud bombs thrown in the area of Cleator Moor square and local take away targeted, we have investigated and identified youths responsible and are currently in the process and dealing with the suspects, hi visibility patrols are continuing in the area.

We are conducting talks in the local primary school sin the run up to halloween/bonfire night with the aim of promoting safety and how to behave appropriately
Patrols are continuing in the area as a priority, school talks have been conducted with Mini Police at St Patricks school and they are producing posters about ASB to put up around the school and will conducting an assembly in school.

Several youths have been identified as causing criminal damage to railings at the Square in Cleator Moor and are being dealt with

Several youths identified as throwing items at local take away and currently being dealt with

There have been no further incidents reported at the Better Centre of Anti-social behaviour due to regular patrols and youths that were identified as being involved dealt with

As we approach the Christmas Holidays we will be working hard to maintain a Hi Vis presence in the area to deter any ASB
22 December 2025 multi agency walk around in Cleator Moor occurred with Home Group and Local Council rep to discuss local issues in the area

Offenders have been identified for causing criminal damage at Cleator moor Square and appropriately dealt with.
19 January 2026 -Priory Drive added as a priority area
14 February 2026 a small group of youths have been identified and spoken to by police, these youths will take part in community remedy at the police station on 23.02.2026

16/03/2026 - All responsible youths have now completed education and intervention as part on the Community Resolution disposal

April 2026 -
We are continuing to conduct high visibility patrols on the area, we have been liaising closely with the management of the astro turf and we are planning a meetign with them, date to be confirmed with a view to implementing a plan for the upcoming summer months to address on going ASB issues at the astro turf. We conducted a session with the mini police at St patricks school mini police about peer pressure and the consequences of acting in an anti-social manner, the mini police wrote plays and made a video showcasing what they had learned - these can be viewed on our facebook page.

Placed Speed Indication Device (SID) for a period of two weeks to gather traffic data
Officers have attended this location and carried out static speed checks, all vehicles travelling over the speed limit have been dealt with accordingly
12.04.2026 attended the area with pro laser speed gun and conducted speed checks, no vehicles were over limit

With the lighter nights and warmer weather we have seen an increase in calls for service for nuisance off road bikes, we are planning an operation in the coming weeks to address this issue and will be targeting problem areas and utilising the use of the drone to assist us in identifying offenders
