Local Priorities

Anti-social behaviour is another priority voted for by the residents of the Chalfonts, the local neighbourhood team for the area continues to deal with issues such as anti-social driving and pony and trap racing

Issued: 31 May 2026

Status Update

The neighbourhood policing team continue to tackle anti-social behaviour.

The team are continuing their hard work around youth-related anti-social behaviour in shops in Chalfont St Peter. Several of those responsible have been identified and we will be looking to speak to them in the presence of parents/guardians and deliver proportionate interventions in due course.

Pony & trap racing continues to be an issue of considerable concern in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. After considerable work with our partners at Buckinghamshire Council a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is now in place on the relevant sections of the A413 and A40. This order prohibits the behaviour in question and provides the police with additional enforcement capabilities.

We have also been working with local farmers, specialist Roads Policing motorcyclists and colleagues at Hertfordshire Police to address the anti-social use of vehicles on open spaces and farm land around the Chalfonts, Denham and Iver. An operation utilising our off-road police motorcycles was held in recent weeks, was very well received locally and will likely be run again in the near future.

If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

Across the two locations four drivers were stopped and warned and five drivers were stopped, reported and now face speed awareness courses or penalty points and fines. The highest speed recorded was 42mph.

On 26/05/2026 the team completed enforcement activity on Chalfont Road, Seer Green. The overwhelming majority of drivers were within the 30mph limit with only one warning being issued.

Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

Burglary continues to be voted for as a priority by the residents of the Chalfonts, areas around South Buckinghamshire continued to be targeted by burglary offenders

Issued: 31 May 2026

Status Update

The neighbourhood policing team have been working hard over recent months to combat burglary and acquisitive crime. Last month we participated in a multi-force operation targeting criminal use of the road network. This operation saw intense proactive policing with partners across the Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Denham and Iver. This operation resulted in multiple arrests, stop searches, vehicle seizures and some excellent disruption. Outside of this operation the team continue to patrol the most affected areas together with our borders with neighbouring areas and forces.

If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
