You Said, We Did:
Operation Halt has been put in place regarding repeat complaints of speeding and other road related concerns.
We have been patrolling hot spot areas providing reassurance for both Moorside and Redvales. We have visited local schools giving talks on Knife crime, Gangs, Stranger danger and explanations of Online safety, ASB, Criminal age of responsibility where appropriate.
Drug warrants have conducted with multiple arrests. We are looking at ASB issues throughout the areas.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team noticed a Blue Seat Ibiza acting suspiciously around the Chesham Fold Estate. Officers approached the vehicle due to sighting the occupant of the vehicle conducting a suspected drug deal. A male was quickly detained with a large quantity of suspected class A drugs recovered, further checks on the vehicle revealed that the driver did not have any valid insurance or hold a driver’s licence. To make his day worse it turned out the male was also shown wanted recall to prison.
We have also seized a large amount of crack cocaine which was discovered near to where a male had been stood, this has been removed from the streets of Bury. It was found within an address, officers located another male who is currently in the process of being removed from the property due to Cuckooing concerns.
The property had digital scales on the coffee table and full roles of tin foil and clingfilm placed in manner to suggest that drugs were being bagged up at the address. Male arrested and car seized.
I would ask that if you have any information or concerns to report these in the usual way via the GMP website or anonymously via CrimeStoppers on the telephone number 0800 555 111.
