Status Update

The local town team has taken action against persistent offenders by issuing Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, Community Protection Warnings and by supporting the council in enforcing the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).

An Acceptable Behaviour Agreement is a voluntary agreement that sets clear expectations for behaviour and is often used to prevent further problems.

A Community Protection Warning is a formal written warning that tells someone to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on others.

A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is a legal order that allows councils and police to take action against certain behaviours in public places, including issuing fines.

The team has also worked alongside Youth Unity and the Techzone Gaming Bus to educate young people and help divert them away from gangs and knife crime.

Status Update

Over the last 90 days, the town team has identified more than 40 offenders, who are now facing action for the crimes they have committed.

Plain‑clothes proactive patrols have led to arrests of prolific offenders. The town team has also been working closely with the Town Wardens to help prevent further offending and provide reassurance to the community.
