• Tackling vehicle-related anti-social behaviour and traffic offences in March, Whittlesey and Chatteris town centres.
Across March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris, officers have continued to direct their efforts towards reducing vehicle related antisocial behaviour and addressing traffic offences. Proactive patrols within these communities have resulted in several positive enforcement outcomes.
These include arrests, the issuing of traffic offence reports, the seizure of vehicles being driven without valid insurance, and the seizure of multiple e scooters and e bikes.
Parking enforcement has also been undertaken, particularly in the vicinity of schools, to ensure the safety of children and families during peak drop off and pick up times.
Speed enforcement has been carried out, identifying repeat offenders requiring further attention. A focused weekend of action was conducted in Chatteris on 7–8 March. During this operation, officers issued four Section 59 Police Reform Act warnings for antisocial driving, reported a motorist for using a mobile device while driving—resulting in an arrest—and seized an e scooter. Speed checks were also carried out over the course of the weekend, with no speeding offences detected.
Collectively, these measures are aimed at enhancing road safety, strengthening public confidence, and ensuring that the streets and public spaces within our communities remain safe, orderly, and accessible for all.

• Proactive targeting of known drug dealing and drug use hotspots, within March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris town centres, with a focus on disrupting criminal networks and safeguarding young people at risk of exploitation.

Through intelligence driven policing and proactive operational activity, we have continued to make progress in disrupting drug related activity across March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris.

Officers recently developed and executed a Section 8 drugs warrant in Whittlesey, during which a cannabis factory containing 270 cannabis plants was located and dismantled.
Positive stop searches have also contributed to reducing the availability of illegal drugs on our streets and further disrupting supply networks operating within the area. Alongside enforcement activity, safeguarding remains a key priority. We continue to work closely with partner agencies to identify and support vulnerable individuals—particularly young people who may be at risk of exploitation linked to drug supply or associated criminal behaviour. Early intervention, robust information sharing, and coordinated multi agency support remain central to this preventative work.

• Provide a visible policing presence in town centres and other public spaces to offer community reassurance and address safety concerns. This priority follows engagement with young people.
We have continued to maintain a strong and visible presence across March, Whittlesey, and Chatteris, with a particular focus on parks, schools, and town centres.

This visibility has enabled members of the public to report and discuss local issues directly with officers who serve their neighbourhoods. In addition to routine patrol activity, officers have delivered Police Street Surgeries across all three towns and participated in a wide range of community engagement events. These have included parish council meetings, school visits, care home visits, and targeted outreach to harder to reach groups.

During this period, we have also issued a Community Protection Warning (CPW) and made an arrest in relation to squatting offences in March. Several anti-social behaviour (ASB) warning notices have been issued following close partnership work with local businesses to address and reduce ongoing concerns in March. We are also in the process of developing injunctions for a small number of local youths who have persistently committed ASB, causing harm within the town centre.
