Local Priorities

Residents in Kingswinford and Pensnett have raised ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour affecting specific hotspot locations. Reports include disorder, nuisance behaviour and activity impacting on the quality of life for those living nearby. The pattern indicates repeat issues at identified locations rather than isolated incidents, requiring a coordinated neighbourhood response.

Issued: 2 May 2026

Status Update

The neighbourhood team is maintaining oversight of this priority, with activity directed towards identified hotspot locations where resources allow. Patrols and engagement are being carried out when available, with a focus on visibility and reassurance.

Individuals responsible for anti-social behaviour are being identified and where appropriate, proportionate action is taken, including the use of warnings and available enforcement powers.

We are working with partner agencies to address underlying issues and reduce repeat behaviour. Ongoing engagement with residents ensures concerns continue to inform our response, which is reviewed and prioritised in line with demand and available resources.

Actioned: 26 May 2026

There has been a sustained increase in recorded shop theft offences across local retail premises. These are recorded acquisitive crimes resulting in financial loss to businesses and impacting staff confidence. The pattern reflects repeat offending at specific locations rather than isolated incidents.

This issue is identified and owned within the neighbourhood policing area, impacting multiple retail locations across the wider footprint. Whilst offending linked to the Merry Hill retail site forms part of the overall picture, it does not represent the entirety of the problem, which spans beyond a single location and requires a coordinated neighbourhood led response.

Issued: 1 May 2026

Status Update

The neighbourhood team is leading on this priority, driving a coordinated problem solving approach across all affected retail locations. This includes targeted patrols, retailer engagement, evidence gathering and the identification and management of repeat offenders.

Activity within the Merry Hill retail site is being incorporated into this wider response; however, oversight, direction and ownership of this priority remains with the neighbourhood team to ensure consistency, accountability and effective delivery.

Resources are being directed based on demand and emerging intelligence, with ongoing review to disrupt offending, reduce harm and support the retail community.

Actioned: 26 May 2026

We have received increased intelligence and community reports relating to suspected drug dealing in and around Pensnett, Brockmoor, Kingswinford and Wall Heath. This activity is causing concern for residents and impacts the safety and well being of our communities.

Issued: 1 May 2026

Status Update

We are actively developing intelligence and taking targeted action against those suspected of being involved in drug supply. This includes proactive patrols in identified hotspot areas and disruption of suspected activity.

Where sufficient evidence is identified, we will pursue enforcement action, including execution of warrants and arrests where appropriate.

We will continue to work with partners and rely on information from the public to identify offenders and reduce drug related harm in these areas.
