Currently looking into a couple of areas for anti-social vehicle use, joint visits have been done on Heathington Road looking into reports for drug use and anti-social gathering and vehicle use. Also receiving reports of dirt bikes being used around Swan Walk SNT are working on information gathering for this issue currently. SNT are currently in the scanning phase for ASB in Shepperton.

Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)

Status Update

Re-introduction of StreetSafe, which is a platform to report anything that makes women unsafe. Businesses approached to distribute the QR code/link to the platform. Please, if possible, place the poster on the Surrey Police website/social media platforms.
High visibility patrols increased during key social hours. Police have been focused on High Street to ensure people feel safe at night.

Shoplifting and acquisitive crime

Shoplifting - A prolific offender has been identified as an outstanding suspect of an attempt theft, he was subsequently arrested and remanded before the next available court. Officers have conducted patrols in the area, engaging with local businesses, providing advice for crime prevention, reassurance and visibility in the local area.

Acquisitive Crime - We have engaged with local businesses to provide support and reassurance as well as crime prevention advice to prevent further offending. Police have undertaken security measure checks with local businesses and then provided advice on how to improve security to make it harder for suspects to undertake criminal activities. Police have also targeted known offenders, resulting in multiple arrests which has successfully reduced their capabilities to reoffend.

we are starting up Meet the beats and looking to plan events with local partners regarding Fraud, We are transitioning our Topics of Meet the beats to be about Frauds and prevention of Frauds for people, this includes signs of Fraud, Stickers for doors and educational booklets. We going to plan some events at local business and community centres to make people aware of how too safeguard themselves against Scams and other Frauds that occur.

School patrols and Parking issues

Status Update

We are carrying out irregular patrol During the Morning too educate and stop Poor Parking and protection of School areas as there have been reports of Parking and stopping on the Yellow Zigzags and parking that blocks vehicles from leaving their drive way. We are monitoring the situation are working with Schools too prevent these parking issues.
We have had some success around holding “meet the beats” and advising the public around home security, keeping their keyless car thefts and staying safe during the winter season. We will try to keep up public engagement while introducing different methods of Engagement, such as “Cuppa with a Copper” at your local community centres and Coffee shops, while also talking with some of the businesses and groups to do presentations.
