Status Update

Residents previously asked us to focus on the following issues:

Continue to tackle retail crime and associated ASB.
*The Safer Town Centre and Winter of Action initiatives, along with Operation Hotspot have seen increased high visibility and plain clothed patrols in Stevenage to tackle retail crime and associated ASB and this will continue.

Tackle ASB in busy areas
*An increase in police patrols in hot spot areas. Working with partner agencies to target harden problem areas and increase CCTV in key locations.

Tackle reports of drug use, especially in residential communities.
*Acting on intelligence from local residents and neighbourhood surveys to identify offenders.

The new priorities for May to August are as follows:

• Retail crime and support local businesses.
• Anti-social behaviour involving bikes and e-scooters.

Status Update

Residents will see their dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team of PCs and PCSOs working alongside partners to tackle these issues, through an increased police presence, engagement events and targeted enforcement.
