Status Update

Residents previously asked us to focus on the following issues:

Address speeding and nuisance vehicle use in the Callowland and Leggatts wards.
• Patrols have been carried out and officers have attended reports from members of the public.
• Road safety operations have been conducted, with further dates planned.
• Speed checks have been carried out.
• Two section 59 warning notices were issued to people riding quad bikes - if caught again, the vehicles will be seized.

Reduce anti-social behaviour around St Albans Road, Bushey Mill Lane and Hemming Way.
• Patrols have been carried out in the area.
• Businesses have been spoken to.
• Dedicated operations have been conducted - utilising uniformed and plain clothed resources.
• A persistent offender was arrested.

Tackle nuisance e-scooters and bicycles being used on pavements in Callowland and Leggatts wards.
• Patrols have been carried out in the area.
• Dedicated operations have been planned - utilising uniformed and plain clothed resources.
• Riders have been stopped and spoken to, to explain the laws around their use and give warnings around scooters being seized.
• Messaging has been issued on social media to remind people of the laws around use of e-scooters.
