Local Priorities

Drug-related activity has been identified as an area of concern that the public would like the Local Policing Team to prioritise.

Issued: 1 Apr 2026

Status Update

We continue engaging with residents to gather intelligence and encourage reporting through the usual channels so we can take targeted action where needed. Regular patrols are ongoing, and we’re working closely with the community to address any drug-related concerns.

Actioned: 23 Apr 2026

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) has been identified as a key priority for intervention.

Concerns have been raised regarding excessive speeding in Tackley, particularly in the vicinity of the Village Hall. Additionally, there have been widespread reports of anti-social nuisance across the North Oxfordshire area, including instances of anti-social driving and inconsiderate parking.

Issued: 1 Apr 2026

Status Update

Officers are engaging with residents to promote considerate parking and responsible driving. Where speeding persists, we’re working with enforcement teams on targeted measures, including mobile speed cameras, and exploring longer-term solutions like traffic calming. Please keep sharing your feedback—it helps shape our priorities.

Illegal Use of E-Bikes and E-Scooters

The recent community survey has highlighted the illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters as a top priority for local policing efforts.

We have received multiple reports of young individuals operating e-bikes and e-scooters on public roads and footpaths, particularly in the area between Long Hanborough and North Leigh. These incidents often involve two riders per vehicle, both without helmets, which poses a significant safety risk to both the public and the individuals involved.

This behaviour not only contravenes road safety regulations but also contributes to wider concerns around anti-social behaviour. The Local Policing Team will be taking steps to address this issue through increased patrols, engagement with schools and youth groups, and enforcement where necessary.

Issued: 1 Apr 2026

Status Update

We’re continuing to work with neighbouring teams to address the illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters across North Oxfordshire. Our focus remains on safety, education, and engaging with young people and parents about the risks and legal restrictions
