Status Update

  • Drug Dealing/Misuse – Morley Street

    Action Plan 
    • NPT continue to show some visibility in and around the streets surrounding Morley Street. There have been several drug related arrests in recent weeks and a recent charge of Possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and dangerous driving. This was a result of proactive patrols by NPT officers.

       
  • ASB Vehicles around Victoria Shopping Centre

    Action Plan 
    • There have been reports of antisocial vehicles in and around Victoria Shopping Centre, bad parking around Mother Hubbard’s/Cha Cha Chai on Ingleby Road. NPT officers and PCSO’s attend on evenings and weekends and take appropriate action to offending vehicles. Several tickets have been issued in the area for obstruction.
    • Meetings have taken place with partners and Inspector Taylor from Bradford west NPT, supporting and working with the stores and looking at preventative measures moving forward.

Thornton & Allerton Ward Area

  • Significantly increase Community Alert sign ups across the area, enabling the local Neighbourhood Policing Team to quickly share tailored crime reduction advice, information about events, crime trends and emerging issues, as well as positive outcomes, police activity and contact points. Anyone wishing to sign up but unsure how to do so can contact PC Emily Parkinson at [email protected], who will be happy to assist. 
     
  • Increase police presence at primary schools during drop off and pick up times to deter unsafe parking practices and educate students and parents about the reasons behind these measures and the importance of maintaining car free zones around schools.
     
  • Reduce acquisitive crime, including burglary, theft from motor vehicles and shed break ins. All reports will be thoroughly investigated, with those responsible identified and arrested where possible. Proactive, overt, and covert officers will be deployed in the area.
     
  • Target nuisance off road motorbikes used on roads and green spaces. Officers will take enforcement action under the relevant legislation and seize bikes used antisocially or in breach of documentation requirements.

    Action Plan
    • Conduct high visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations
    • Deploy specialist off road bike teams where appropriate
    • Utilise relevant police powers, including: 
      - Section 59 warnings
      - Vehicle seizure, where legislation permits
    • Encourage community engagement, requesting residents to report sightings and provide intelligence relating to off road bike usage.
       
  • Heights Lane ASB
    Reports of anti-social behaviour involving vehicles and drug misuse in the Heights Lane area, occurring daily between 18:00 and 00:00 hours.

    Action Plan:
    Increase high visibility patrols during identified peak times
    • Gather intelligence relating to involved vehicles, including engagement with local businesses
    • Carry out disruption visits to identified individuals linked to incidents
    • Encourage residents and businesses to report incidents while they are ongoing to support timely police response
       
  • Reduce ASB by students, including entering residents’ gardens and causing nuisance before/after school and at lunchtime.

    Action Plan:
    • School liaison by PCSO attendance: agree times, codes of conduct, rapid reporting route, and sanctions.
    • Staggered patrols at school start/finish; engagement inputs on respect/public order.
    • Joint warnings (school letters + police ASB warnings) to identified students; involve parents/guardians.
    • Use S35 dispersal if necessary; consider Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) for repeat offenders.
    • Environmental design: advise residents on gate/hedge security; request school to supervise egress points.

    Action Plan
    • Proactive patrols have been conducted around various locations with action taken against offenders. Some shops have been identified as selling the Nitrous Oxide and action has been taken against them
    • Latest's news : The team have had a number of arrests for driving offences as a result of a nos use complaints from the community and a number of stop searches for the same. 

       
  • ASB vehicles – Manningham, Lane 

    Action Plan
    • ASB has been committed around some of the wedding venues on Manningham Lane. This includes people setting off fireworks close to the highway. Officers have liaised with venue owners and warnings have been issues. We continue to monitor the most problematic locations and will take any necessary action once the evidence has been obtained.
    • Latest's news : The team have had a number of arrests for driving offences as a result of a Nos Gas (Balloons) use complaints from the community and a number of stop searches for the same. 
    • Partnership working with council colleagues for vehicle recovery on mass at problem locations.

       
  • Theft from Motor vehicles/Damage to motor vehicles -  area surrounding Valley Parade football ground during match days.

    Action Plan
    • There has been an increase in criminal damage and theft from motor vehicles in areas surrounding Valley Parade football ground in recent weeks. Officers are being tasked with hi-visibility patrols around the areas and offer crime prevention advice. 
    • Arrest of a suspect who was committing offences (15 more offences) across the district. Awaiting court dates.

Clayton, Fairweather Green and Lower Grange Ward Areas

  • Significantly increase Community Alert sign ups across the area, enabling the local Neighbourhood Policing Team to quickly share tailored crime reduction advice, information about events, crime trends, and emerging issues, as well as positive outcomes, police activity and contact points.
