Crime in Deddington, Cherwell

Over recent weeks, the Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Team have continued to carry out high visibility disruption patrols across the highlighted priority area.
These patrols aim to deter crime, offer reassurance, and ensure we remain visible and accessible to our rural communities.
As this is the final month of the current community priority, we are focusing on consolidating our activity, responding to community feedback, and reducing opportunities for rural crime.
Rural Crime Prevention – Tool Marking and Security Activity
PCSO Louise Beaumont, working alongside our Rural Crime Prevention Advisor, Kay Andrews, continues to coordinate crime prevention initiatives across the priority area.

In addition:
•Agricultural machinery has been security marked using SelectaDNA during recent prevention visits.

•Further crime prevention visits have been carried out jointly with the Rural Crime Advisor, focusing on farms, workshops, and businesses with previous vulnerabilities.

Community Engagement – Have Your Say Roadshows
PCSOs Louise Beaumont and Raymond Kennard continue to deliver Have Your Say roadshows throughout our villages, including monthly meetings at locations previously affected by burglaries.

Community intelligence gathered from these events indicates continued concern around:
•Outbuilding insecurity
•Agricultural machinery theft
•Suspicious vehicles linked to rural areas
These concerns continue to shape our patrol strategy during this final month of the priority.

Over the past few months the Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Team have continued to maintain a visible policing presence across the highlighted priority areas.
This remains particularly important following the Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant executed in November at a property in Graven Hill. Although that warrant successfully disrupted activity at the address, we know that sustained visibility is a key deterrent in preventing any associated drug related behaviour from returning to the area.
Our patrols are therefore focused on reassurance, disruption, and early identification of emerging concerns.

The Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Team continue to carry out high visibility patrols across the highlighted priority area. These patrols have recently resulted in the arrest of a male in the Kingsmere area on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. This reinforces our commitment to identifying and disrupting individuals involved in criminal activity that affects our local communities.

Patrols Linked to Recent Disorder

Following the recent disorder involving groups of young people in Kingsmere, the team have been conducting targeted patrols around end of school times. As a result of this activity, there have been no further incidents, but we will continue to maintain a visible presence to deter any re emerging issues and to identify those responsible for anti social behaviour or associated offences.

E Scooters – Community Concerns

We are aware of ongoing community concerns regarding the use of e scooters contributing to ASB in the area. In response, the team will be conducting regular operations to stop and seize E-scooters being used illegally under current legislation. These operations will form part of our wider approach to managing ASB and keeping the area safe.

2 E-Scooters were seized in the last two weeks by PC Lorraine MEAD as a result of patrols in the area's identified by the community.
