Local Priorities

Tong Ward Area

  • To target anti-social vehicle use, speeding, inconsiderate parking around schools across the ward areas. To target anti-social behaviour in relation to use of vehicles and motorcycles, including untaxed and uninsured vehicles and abandoned vehicles. 
     
  • To disrupt and target misuse of drugs offences and ASB behaviour by increasing high visibility patrols around Holmewood including Broadstone Way, both parades of Shops, Tyersal Lane areas of Holmewood and derelict buildings. 
     
  • Working with the community to develop intelligence in relation to larger scale drug dealing and drug cultivation, distribution and dealing. 
     
  • To target and prevent the use of knives and knife related crime and reduce violent crime by utilising the fixed knife amnesty bin, regular robust and fair use of stop search powers and high visibility patrols in hotspot areas.

Status Update

  • Officers from Bradford South have conducted two vehicle operations in conjunction with the council vehicle enforcement team which has led to the removal of 11 unregistered and untaxed vehicles and over 20 caravans from the ward area. This operation will continue in the coming months. 
     
  • NPT officers make regular targeted patrols of Holmewood and a contact point has been set up at the community café which takes place on a Tuesday morning for residents to drop in and talk to a local PCSO and raise issues. The time now is 10am but will be subject to change depending on demand. 
     
  • Intelligence continues to be received and acted on in relation to drug dealing and cannabis cultivation, and this has led to the discovery and seizure of several large-scale cannabis productions which are currently under investigation. 
     
  • The knife amnesty bin has been received from British Iron works is now installed in the local community. We also continue working with educational partners to bring programmes to schools in the area and these will be advertised locally.

Wyke Ward Area

  • To target anti-social vehicle use, speeding, inconsiderate parking around schools and problem locations across the ward area. To target anti-social behaviour in relation to use of vehicles and motorcycles, including untaxed and uninsured vehicles and abandoned vehicles. 
     
  • To disrupt and target misuse of drugs offences and ASB behaviour by increasing high visibility patrols around Wyke village and shopping areas, parks and local youth targeted locations.

Status Update

  • We have conducted vehicle operations in the Wyke area to remove untaxed and uninsured vehicles from the Wyke area, and these have been a great success. This was in conjunction with the vehicle enforcement team from Bradford Council. We have also conducted Speedwatch dates at Tong Village, Shetcliffe Lane, Westfield Lane, and Lower Wyke Lane to enforce speed and advise drivers of local restrictions. 
     
  • Local PC’s and PCSO’s make regular patrols of ASB hotspots including the shops at Wyke and various youth congregation points around the Wycoller and Wyke estates. They have also responded to calls from the St Marys crescent areas and are working with Incommunities to offer support to residents who have been experiencing ASB.

Queensbury Ward Area

  • To continue to obtain & execute warrants, follow up & develop drugs intelligence to disrupt the supply of controlled drugs in the area.
     
  • To work with partners, community groups and schools to reduce ASB in the area in the form of inconsiderate parking at Home Farm, Shibden Head and Foxhill Primary Schools 
     
  • To address the issues of ASB at Russell Hall Park and surrounding areas, as well as West End/Sandbeds at school finish times.
     
  • To tackle the anti-social use of vehicles and speeding issues within the village by conducting regular speedwatch initiatives and traffic operations.
     
  • To tackle ongoing Burglary and Theft From Motor Vehicle crime within the area through pro-active patrols, offering crime prevention advice to residents and taking positive action where required.
     
  • Robustly dealing with off-road bike issues in the ward area through working alongside Op Steerside colleagues and taking positive action against perpetrators.

Status Update

  • We’re regularly reviewing drug intelligence and continue to execute warrants within the ward targeting drug supply and cannabis farms.
     
  • Officers are in contact partners including community groups, schools and deal with any issues within ward regarding ASB or parking outside schools.
     
  • Officers are conducting daily patrols of Russell Hall Park due to the recent ASB issues and the homeless male now residing in a tent within the park.
     
  • We’re regularly conducting speed watch operation across the ward and officers are targeting vehicles committing driving offences.

Great Horton Ward Area

  • To tackle ASB/nuisance/begging at key locations such as the Tesco Superstore, Great Horton Road
     
  • To tackle ongoing Burglary and Theft From Motor Vehicle crime within the area through pro-active patrols, offering crime prevention advice to residents and taking positive action where required.
     
  • To tackle the anti-social use of vehicles and speeding issues within the ward area by conducting regular speedwatch initiatives and traffic operations.
     
  • Working with partners to tackle highway/parking issues near to Brackenbeck Road/Spencer Road.
     
  • Robustly dealing with obstructive parking issues across the ward area through increasing patrols in the neighbourhoods and working alongside wardens and taking enforcement action.

Status Update

  • We have completed numerous operations over the last month and made several arrests for various offences including vagrancy. We have also issued ASB warning letters to children who have caused ASB at the store.
     
  • Officers have conducted high visibility patrols in the areas of high crime to reassure the public and reduce crime. Officers have also conducted cocoons in areas and signed members of the public up to community alerts.
     
  • We’re regularly conducting speed watch operation across the ward and officers are targeting vehicles committing driving offences.
     
  • We’re working alongside our partners to conduct days of action and seizing vehicles without insurance/tax or causing obstruction.

Royds Ward Area

  • To target anti-social vehicle, use, nuisance off road quads and bikes. This will be achieved by utilising Police specialist units, working with partners, dealing positively with offenders using Police and local authority powers / legislation, operation Steerside operations, leaflet drops / intelligence gathering and seizing off road quads and bikes.
     
  • To deal with speeding issues. This will be achieved by utilising partnership awareness campaigns, Police monitoring (community speed watch) and enforcement.

  • Nuisance vehicles – Operation Steerside officers continue to provide an increased presence in the area, supporting local NPT officers in tackling reports of anti-social vehicular usage and nuisance off road bikes.
     
  • Royd ward (speeding) – Speed watch operations continue to be carried out at several locations across the ward, where residents have highlighted speeding vehicles as a concern.
