Local Priorities

Anti-social behaviour was voted again as a priority issue within the South area.
The Aylesbury South neighbourhood team will be aiming to reduce anti-social behaviour around Walton Court shops and Edinburgh Playing Fields.

Status Update

The team will be working with partner agencies and increasing patrols around target areas during periods of heavy footfall.
A male who has been causing repeated anti-social behaviour has been granted a criminal behaviour order which prohibits him from attending the Walton Court shops. The team will be monitoring this for any potential breaches and deal with robustly.
Officers will conduct high visibility patrols in areas identified to be most impacted by anti-social behaviour. They will also continue with their monthly have your say events to engage with the local residents, speak with them about what concerns they have and offer crime prevention advice.
The team are also receiving consistent reports of motorbikes riding across the Edinburgh playing fields. They will be conducting high visibility patrols in the location and seizing any bikes found to be riding across the fields.
April update: march has no recorded instances of ASB, a huge decrease on previous months.
May update: 9 recorded instances of ASB in April an increase on previous month, we expect an increase as the weather improves.
This priority is reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.

Speeding was voted again as a priority for the Aylesbury South team to deal with by the local community. One of the roads of concerns includes Churchill avenue.

Status Update

The South team will be enforcing the speed limit in target areas, we will be conducting high visibility speed enforcement throughout the quarter and . this will include issuing fines and educational programmes.
The team will look to update the community on the results of this speeding enforcement operation once completed.
April update: In March 15 vehicles checked on Anton Way, 4 warning letters sent to those exceeding the limit. 13 vehicles checked on Churchill Ave, 2 warning letters sent.
May update: further speeding surveys and days of operations to be conducted June/July and results shared in future updates.

Drug offending has been voted for as a top concern again by the local community in the latest survey. The Aylesbury South team have been made aware of the increase in class A and B drugs being dealt within certain locations around the area.

The team target drug dealers with proactive policing, this includes gathering and submitting intelligence on individuals suspected to be drug dealing and utilising stop and search powers to lead to arrests and warrants.
They will also continue patrols around areas identified to have persistent incidents of drug activity in order to deter further offending.
May update: 2 possession of drugs in April, a reduction on the previous month.
This priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.
