Local Priorities

1 – Anti-social behaviour
2 – Retail shop theft
3 – Acquisitive crime patrols

Issued: 23 Mar 2026

Status Update

1 – Anti-social behaviour Continuation of work with partners to maximise the use of tools and powers to deal with individuals persistently causing anti-social behaviour including those in retail premises. Visible patrols will continue in hotspot areas to deter issues, including where we anticipate will become popular in the warmer months and that have a large volume of youth related anti-social behaviour.
2 – Retail shop theft Continue liaison with retail stores (including small supermarkets) in relation to shop thefts. To include target hardening, identification of repeat offenders, and reduce the reward by identifying those found to be fraudulently purchasing these stolen goods. Additional visible and plain clothes patrols will be undertaken.
3 – Acquisitive crime patrols Continue visible presence in our rural areas following an increase in acquisitive crime. Engagement with residents to be developed, including appropriate referrals to the Safer Homes scheme to provide target hardening advice. Crime pattern analysis to be continued to identify trends and offenders to influence patrols.
