Dog fouling.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Dog fouling is unpleasant and can have a real impact on residents. Enforcement of dog fouling is the responsibility of district and parish councils, and any reports received by police are usually passed to them to deal with.

After this was raised as a community concern, local officers worked with the Town Council to carry out dedicated patrols in areas commonly used by dog walkers. These patrols focused on speaking with dog owners, encouraging responsible behaviour, and promoting the correct disposal of dog waste.

Messages have also been shared online to raise awareness of the issue and remind people to help keep public spaces clean and safe for everyone.

More information about reporting dog fouling and enforcement can be found on the council’s website.

Antisocial behaviour.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

The North Downs West ward is regularly patrolled by the local beat officer, both on foot and in a police vehicle. This includes routine drive‑through patrols. A visible police presence and regular engagement help reduce antisocial behaviour.

Where individuals are identified as being involved in antisocial behaviour, officers speak with them directly. This often includes home visits, where officers talk with young people and their parents or guardians. This approach has been effective in deterring and reducing antisocial behaviour in the community.
