Status Update

Shop theft continues to be an issue impacting retailers in Glossop town centre. Several arrests have been made during the first quarter of 2026, and we are working hard to prevent reoffending.
Action
• High visibility patrols will continue in an attempt to both deter and capture offenders
• We will continue to offer support and advice to shop staff 2 – Anti-social behaviour Significant steps were taken during 2025 to deter anti-social behaviour in Glossop town centre. Acceptable behaviour contracts and civil injunctions were issued to some of our more persistent offenders, resulting in a significant reduction in ASB.
Action-
• Partnership working – we will continue to work with the council, schools and social care to tackle ASB • High visibility patrols in hot-spot areas
3 – E-Scooter & E-Bike Nuisance We have increased enforcement against e-scooter & e-bike nuisance behaviour, focusing on unsafe riding, illegal modifications, and misuse in public spaces. Several illegal e-bikes and e-scooters have been seized in the first quarter of 2026

• Conducting patrols in an attempt to identify and capture offenders
