Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Officers are carrying out regular patrols across the area and are working closely with local residents and businesses to help prevent nuisance behaviour. We also encourage people to report incidents so those involved can be identified and dealt with appropriately.

Where young people are identified as causing ongoing issues, officers take proportionate action. This can include Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, which are voluntary agreements made with a child and their parents to help stop problem behaviour. Officers may also use educational workbooks and refer young people to diversionary courses run by the Child‑Centred Policing Team to support positive behaviour change.

E-Scooters/e-bikes.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Privately owned e‑scooters are still illegal to use on public roads, pavements and other public places. Members of the Child‑Centred Policing Team have been sharing this message in schools across Maidstone to raise awareness among young people, who are often seen riding them.

We will continue to educate the public about the law around e‑scooters. Where e‑scooters are found being used illegally in public places, officers will take action and seize them. Seized e‑scooters are not returned and may be destroyed.
