Local Priorities

Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below as the things your local neighbourhood policing teams across north of Peterborough will prioritise for April - June 2026:

1. Anti Social Behaviour in West Town
2. Youth anti-social behaviour and violence at the Cresset Centre
3. Anti Social Behaviour at Peterborough City Hospital

Issued: 25 Mar 2026

Status Update

- Anti-social behaviour (ASB) in West Town

We have continued to conduct neighbourhood patrols wherever possible, focussing on identified hotspot areas.

This visible presence on key streets aims to act as a deterrent to prevent ASB and reassure residents. We have acted where issues cause concern to residents and the wider community.

An example of this is addressing problem parking in Midland Road by issuing tickets where necessary to improve safety and access.

We have also monitored Thorpe Lea Road and Holdich Street, which continue to remain largely stable and problem free.

Another area of focus is Percival Street, where vehicles and groups have been congregating. We have targeted this with patrols and enforcement activity.

- Youth ASB and violence at the Cresset Centre

We have worked closely with security at the Cresset Centre to respond to recent reports of youth anti social behaviour.

Officers have intervened when individuals subject to bans or court action returned to the site, ensuring they were challenged and moved on.

We have issued new six month banning notices to individuals whose behaviour caused concern, as well as submitting evidence for ASB injunctions.

Staff at the centre have been supported by maintaining a visible presence to keep the area safe and reinforcing the need for early reporting of any issues.

We will continue to work with partners and monitor the area to prevent further issues and protect the community.

- ASB at Peterborough City Hospital

We have met with the security supervisor at the hospital to understand and address youth anti social behaviour, particularly around the multi storey car park.

Officers have supported action following criminal damage, where graffiti in the stairwell was identified. It has since been removed.

An increased visible policing presence, particularly after school hours, has helped to reassure staff and combat the issue.

We have contributed to a video aimed at supporting hospital staff, improving victim engagement and increasing positive outcomes.

We’re working closely with partners and will continue to focus patrols at key times to keep the area safe and prevent further anti social behaviour.
