Local Priorities

Antisocial behaviour was voted again as a priority by the residents of the Aylesbury West area in the latest community survey. Currently an area of concern is Alfred Rose park and the surrounding area and the team are working to reduce anti-social behaviour in those areas accordingly.

Issued: 4 Apr 2026

Status Update

The council have reported to the local Neighbourhood team that there has been an increase in ASB within Alfred Rose Park. The local primary school is dealing with anti-social behaviour on an almost daily basis including physical altercations.
The team will now be aiming to reduce ASB in the area month by month. They will achieve this by working with the local authorities and community groups. As well as increasing their foot patrols, marked vehicle patrols and involvement in local groups such as a youth club which operates in the area.
The Neighbourhood team have conversed with a Public Health Project Officer from the council and agreed that foot patrols will be carried out from 1530 hours onwards on school days. They will also continue to liaise with the council and school to identify opportunities for partnership working.
May Update: 7 recorded instances of ASB in April, an increase of 75% on previous month. Actions in April included attending regular Friday prayers at Aylesbury Mosque, investigation resulted in the issue of a Community protection warning re ASB in the community, high visibility patrols in Alfred Rose and Elmhurst areas, a long term neighbourhood dispute involving partnership working with local housing association to resolve.
This priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results. All actions to be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress being made.

Speeding has been voted again this quarter as a priority issue on Aylesbury North following the latest community survey completed by the public.
Aylesbury North is a broad area so we will look at specific locations to start with based on feedback that we have received from the Berryfields, Buckingham Park and Watermead parish councils.

Status Update

The teams specific aim is to improve community safety by reducing speeding in targeted areas. This will be measured by comparing speeding reports/tickets issued each quarter compared to previous quarters when completing speed gun operations. This will be achieved by conducting at least one speed gun operation per month with the aim of reducing speeding and dealing with offences.
Hi-visibility car patrols will be conducted in the 4 areas that have been identified to be an issue for speeding. The neighbourhood team also routinely liaise with Parish Councils to ensure they are constantly monitoring which areas are affecting the residents. Speed surveys to be completed as we move into April/May/June and results will be used to plan enforcement days. Results to be shared in future updates.
Update: 3 speed survey days completed, results to be analysed and used to plan enforcement days with Traffic Police. . We have also worked with the council to address dangerous parking issues at local schools.
May Update: In April we conducted a joint operation with roads policing and motor insurance bureau, a large number of vehicles were seized for no insurance and a large number of tickets were issued for driving offences. The surveys and operations will continue in the coming months.
This priority is reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.
