Drug taking.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Drug use and drug‑related activity continue to be serious issues affecting communities across the country, and Sir Moses Montefiore is no exception. Because of this, it remains an important focus for local residents and for Kent Police.

Tackling drug use and the antisocial behaviour linked to it is a key priority. PC Lawford and PC Parsons regularly patrol the areas where drug use and dealing have been reported. They carry out high‑visibility foot patrols, wearing easily recognisable uniforms and focusing on the times and places where issues are most likely to occur.

Where grounds exist, officers will stop and search suspects and arrest those connected to drug offending. Drug crime affects many wards across Thanet, so the team also targets individuals who cross into Ramsgate to deal drugs. Much of this work is driven by information and intelligence from the community, and your reports are vital in helping officers focus on the right areas and take effective action.

Please continue to report anything that concerns you to PC Lawford and PC Parsons, either by attending their ward surgeries or by contacting them through My Community Voice. If you don’t already have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching ‘My Community Voice’ online.

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued: 3 Feb 2026

Status Update

Antisocial behaviour continues to be a significant concern in Ramsgate, particularly in the Sir Moses Montefiore area. PC Parsons and PC Lawford carry out regular patrols to help keep people safe. They speak with residents, listen to concerns and deal quickly with any issues that arise.

When individuals repeatedly cause problems, the officers take firm action to stop it from happening again. This includes issuing Community Protection Notices (CPNs) — legal notices requiring someone to change behaviour that is causing nuisance or harm, and, in more serious cases, progressing matters through the courts.

All of this work helps make the area a safer and more welcoming place for everyone who lives and works there.

Please continue to tell PC Lawford and PC Parsons about anything that concerns you, either by attending their ward surgeries or by contacting them on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.
