Tackling Robberies and Serious Youth Violence

Status Update

High visibility patrols – requesting other departments and local partners to assist and work with us.
Gathering information and intelligence, working with community, intelligence departments and Offender Managers. Community engagement in schools and working with school intervention officers.

April 2026 Update -

Schools liaison officers continue to attend schools / colleges to give talks on knife crime and anti – social behaviour. They have also given talks to safeguarding leads, social workers, teachers and nurses of the future around drug and knife crime. Weapon searches have been completed in open spaces around the area. High Visibility patrols are being conducted. We are patrolling the One stop shopping centre to conduct issues there, concentrating on the individuals aggressively begging.

April 2026 Update -

Officers have issued numerous tickets for parking across the area. Parking enforcement has been to highlighted streets. Patrolling hotspot locations is on – going.

NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATE:
Officers have conducted numerous patrols across the area, issuing parking tickets and seizing vehicles were necessary. Arranging joint patrols with Parking enforcement and WMP Traffic Unit.

Recruiting Street Watch members to support our work to reduce anti-social behaviour. The scheme allows the community to get involved and help, and understand how the police are solving the ASB issues that are concerning them.

We are working with with local council leaders and organising street watch groups so the community can have an input on how their areas are policed.
Street watch members will be joining us on regular walks can be throughout the local area.

April 2026 update -

Recruitments events for Police and Streetwatch are being conducted at the One Stop Shopping Centre. Streetwatch is also being promoted at the joint monthly drop in surgeries with the local councillors.
